Chrysaetos books

Purchase the Tunesmith Trilogy

In keeping with local themes, Pilgrim and Tunesmith, tinsmith are exclusively available from three independent bookshops and two other extremely interesting shops in the Berwick-upon-Tweed area, close to where the stories are largely set.

Berrydin Books - Canongate, Berwick-upon-Tweed - 01289 309000

Berrydin Books is a delightful second-hand bookshop just outside the ramparts at the top end of the town centre. They also stock new books from a few local authors. Berrydin is also a locally-renowned Warhammer supplier.

Grieves stationers and booksellers - Church Street, Berwick-upon-Tweed - 01289 306051

The Tunesmith novels may be ordered by phone at Grieves, where you can also buy local maps, a wide selection of local fiction and non-fiction, all kinds of stationery, cards, various art materials, office supplies etc., etc.. The owner is extremely good at getting in anything available from his suppliers, and the fact that the shop is so successful after all these years speaks for itself.

Slightly Foxed books - Bridge Street, Berwick-upon-Tweed - 07768 720770

Like Grieves and Berrydin, Slightly Foxed is a must-visit for book-lovers coming to Berwick, with a few new books from local authors and a very wide range of fiction and non-fiction second-hand books and other treasures. The shop is in Bridge Street, near Berwick's magnificent sandstone bridge which was begun by Charles I..and is currently being restored under Charles III!

(There are some gems in Berwick, most of them well away from the disappointing High Street, so enquire and explore!)

Both books are also available in the charming honey-focused gift-shop and tea-room at Chain Bridge Honey Farm, near Horncliffe, by the Union Bridge on the River Tweed.

The Union Bridge is the oldest traffic-carrying suspension bridge in the world and was recently restored for its bicentenary. It is a truly magical spot all year round.

The café at Honey Farm is extraordinary, as is the range of superb bee-made products from a traditional family business which has over 1500 hives spread across the region, including the heathery moors both sides of the Border.

The Tunesmith books are now also available at a wonderful local butcher's shop, in Norham, which is a key location for both novels.

Foreman's Butchers, Norham - 01289 382260

Foreman's butchers sells superb-quality meat, delicious pies and fine English cheeses, an excellent selection of wine, spirits, Lindisfarne Mead, local bakery products, gift items and many other delights. They also sell salmon flies and other Tweed-related fishing tackle...and now two locally-situated novels which tell stories of ospreys, otters and salmon set along this bit of the Tweed, within a few hundred yards of the shop!

If you are anywhere in the area, call in and be astonished. Bacon rolls and other picnic items are very popular with cyclists and anglers.
